There I developed a passion for cows and horses. Recently I graduated from the University of Kentucky where I received 2 degrees, one in Animal Sciences and the other in Community, Leadership, and Development. While in college I was active in anything that sent me places around the U.S. I was on the meat judging team that went to Houston, I was a member of the Dairy Club that sent me to Montreal, Scotland, and Denver, Colorado. I was a member of Ceres International Women’s Fraternity that sent me to Lubbock, TX. During my summers I spent time in Washington, D.C. first with Monsanto and then with the American Meat Institute. I am a firm believer in the political system and have a deep understanding that there are not enough farmers telling their story to Congress. I love to watch as social media has taken off in the agriculture sector and how we are only gaining ground and developing a Voice in the policy decisions that are being made while we are in the fields or barns. Since graduating from college I have been on the job search for anything that allows me to educate legislators, producers, or consumers. In addition to my love of spreading the message of agriculture I also love to cook, bake, take pictures, and I have started sticking my toes in the design pool.
